Your Identity

You were created special. Did you know that?
Firstly, of the 7.6 billion people on the planet, there is nobody like you. That is startling in itself. You are quite the individual!
Secondly, of these 7.6 billion people, you have gifts, talents and a purpose that are exclusively yours. Your purpose is unique to you. That does not mean nobody else will have the same dreams or purposes, but you were uniquely created to fulfil those purposes like only you can. It is how God created you. You were put here for a reason.
And it is not arrogant to think so. We have said that living your life to the full starts with knowing your purpose (you can read all about that HERE), so finding your purpose and living it out is what you were designed for. If you think about it, fulfilling your purpose is actually the opposite of arrogance. Only you can be you.
In all of this however, it is important that you understand your identity is in who you are, not in what you do. Who you are is not whether you are a doctor, a lawyer, butcher or baker.
Your identity is in your created value.
And you were created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27).
For some of you, this may be a very familiar – perhaps even over-familiar – biblical truth.
But let this thought sink in for a moment:
You were created in the image of God.
Try this:
(insert your name here)_________________ is created in the image of God!
You were born with a greatness inside of you, and a potential beyond your wildest expectations. Some people may not feel this, because they have lost sight of their dreams, and maybe even lost their way in life. Maybe you have even stopped believing in your created value, and are living outside of your God-ordained purpose. If this is you, we want you to know this today:
God thinks your value is worth the life of his son Jesus.
It is not too late to start accepting your value.
You can do this at any time.
Why not start today?
A $100 bill is always worth $100. You can screw it up, step on it or cover it with dirt, but its value never changes. It is the same with you. If people have hurt you, walked all over you or thrown sand in your face, you are not the one with the problem, because your value has not changed. The problem is actually with them, because they cannot see your value – and it is likely they are trying to convince you not to see it either.
Remember this:
You were created special.
You are made in God’s image.
You are 1 in 7.6 billion!
